Dr. Marlene Mack is an educator, entrepreneur, artist, and early childhood champion. For over twenty-seven years, she has owned and directed the award-winning One Step Ahead Learning Center, One Step Ahead Babies, located in East Orange, New Jersey. In April 2024, her third location, One Step Ahead Learning & Performing Arts Center, located at One Gateway Center, opened. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, National Association for the Education of Young Children, and the Association for Early Learning.  2024 was a year of recognition for Dr. Marlene Mack. In January 2024, she received the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award signed by President Joe Biden. In July 2024, Dr. Marlene received her Honorary Doctorate in Humanitarianism from Church Beyond the Walls. In October 2024, she received the Citation Award from the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa Inc. for her outstanding achievements and services in the community. In March 2025, Dr. Marlene is featured in S.O.S. Magazine as a Champion for Early Childhood Education and the Arts. She shares her life with her four children, Willie, Brittany, Brianna, Bria, and her dog, Sassy. Her motto is - Christ and Education Make A Great Combination.
